Stop being a bad Chiro CEO
You’re a Clown CEO, and We’re Going to Change That
Let’s cut out the fluff and get right to it. None of us has time to waste.
Here Comes a Hard Truth
Learning to become a chiropractor taught you a lot of great things. I bet you’re awesome at treating your patients. They leave appointments feeling renewed.
You know what chiropractor school didn’t teach you, doc?
How to be a successful CEO.
You already know you’re bad at running your own business. A lot of chiros feel like total frauds once they start running their own businesses.
You know why? Because they have no idea what they’re doing. They suck at it. They haven’t had the training.
Diagnose Your Business’s Symptoms
Let’s run through a quick list so we can diagnose what’s wrong with your business and how you manage it.
Do you have messy books? Yep.
Does your business have a coherent vision that keeps you on track? Not even close.
Do your team meetings feel awkward af? Absolutely.
Here’s my diagnosis:
You’re running your business like a clown in a circus.
Imposter Syndrome Is Telling You Something
You have imposter syndrome. I know you do. It’s why you’re here.
You know what, though? I had imposter syndrome, too, when I got started as a chiro.
Are you trying that “fake it ’til you make it” trick?
Yeah, I also tried that. It doesn’t fool anyone.
I don’t know you yet, but I bet I can make some pretty accurate descriptions about how impostor syndrome makes you feel.
- You’re worried that your team members — the employees who count on you to lead them — are rolling their eyes behind your back. They respect your skills as a chiro, but they wonder if they’ll even have jobs next month. And they — rightly — blame you for putting their livelihoods in jeopardy.
- You’re worried your patients will walk into your office, look around, and wonder if they should just GTFO now. Yeah, your office isn’t running in a professional manner, so any new patients wonder if they can trust you with their health.
- You’re worried that you never should have started a business. You’re so good at adjusting spines. Why did you ever think you could run a successful chiro business?
I’m not afraid to lay out these harsh truths because I know from personal experience that they can make your life miserable. I’m not just talking about your professional life, either. When you’re the CEO, there’s no such thing as a “professional life” and a “private life.” Your business concerns haunt you day and night.
Imposter syndrome is telling you something. It’s telling you to get your act together or give up on your dream of owning a chiro business.
That’s it. That’s all of the anxiety and fear boiled down to its essence.
So, What Are You Going to Do About It?
Go ahead and start rolling your eyes as hard as you can. You still need to hear this:
Your business success starts with your mindset.
Oh, great, yet another self-help cliché that never really helped anyone. Why don’t I just “let go and let God” or whatever?
I know how it sounds, but it’s still true. Your mindset is the source of your business’s success.
Look, you’re not going to know all of the answers. And that’s fine. Because it isn’t about knowing all the answers.
I’m talking about building structures and systems.
And that’s crucial because systems give you clarity.
Look, you’re not going to be 100% sure about every business decision you make. But you’ve got to stop overthinking it. Stop overthinking and start executing the right systems.
Once you do that, bam! No more impostor syndrome. No more dumb, business-owner vibes.
Just pure clarity results.
